Panel is the brains of the operation. It is installed in an inconspicuous location and has a
back-up power source in the form of a battery. The Control Panel houses all of the specifically
programmed information unique to your location including: zone types, transmission method,
audible parameters,and user information

Keypads - The Human Interface Keypads are the means by which you,
the customer, communicate with the Control Panel. They are very user friendly. You punch in a
secret code number and the Control Panel will Arm, Disarm, Bypass problem zones, show you
system troubles, etc. These keypads are usually found in 2 varieties: (LCD) Liquid cristal

LED provides lights as indicators. There are new Touch-Screen Keypads on the horizon.

Back-Up/Alternate Monitoring - Keep Connected
Standard telephone line monitoring is vulnerable to line cuts without supervision. There are several
secondary/redundant methods of communication available should the standard phone lines be compromised.
Technologies today include Cellular, Radio, and Internet monitoring alternatives for back-up or substitute
for standard phone lines.

Sirens - Audible Alarm Notification
Sirens are probably the best deterrents to intruders. If there is anything an intruder hates, it's noise.
Most systems have at least one siren. We actually recommend an interior and exterior siren. The philosophy
works like this: the inside siren distracts the intruder and throws them off their plan. The outside siren
is the variable that the intruder has no control over. Any neighbour could act or react favourably to an outside
siren. The combination of an inside and outside siren is the best scenario. The inside siren blares in the
intruders ear while the outside siren calls attention to the property. Due to noise by-laws, sirens are
generally programmed to shut off after 4 minutes. However, in the event of a further alarm, with most
systems in use today, the siren will re-sound for another 4 minutes.

Strobe Light - Visual Protection
A Strobe light, unlike a siren, can flash until the alarm system is turned off. There is no noise bylaw involved.
If you are away from your premises and an alarm occurs, the strobe light will continue to flash until the system
is disarmed. Upon return to your premises, this flashing light will provide you with valuable information prior
to entering so that you are not walking into a potential intrusion in progress.

 |
Panic Button - Personal Protection
Panic buttons can be wireless or hardwired. Wireless Panic buttons are generally lightweight, wearable pendants
that will activate your alarm system from within your premises, anytime you feel nervous or threatened. Hardwired
Panic buttons are stationary and you must be close by the button to activate it.

your water tank leaks, or your plumbing bursts, having a flood detector will provide you with proper
notification to ensure the integrity of your basement.

Temperature Detectors - Home Infrastructure Protection
Water damage can devastate a home as much as a fire. Knowing of temperature changes that might
cause frozen or broken pipes, or early notice of a flood or water condition, can alert you to
take action that prevents further damage.
